Weigh in Day 12/22/2012

So today was weigh in day for me and ray and I must say that it was very disappointing. I knew the damage that I had done by not exercising this past week. I stood up straight, got on the scale, and held my breath......155.2. Of course.....I felt so disgusted this morning, but if you want amazing results you have to do the work. Ray got on the scale and it was a more male response. A male response is an air punch and a swift kick of the scale. He weighed 269.0. He gained 20 pounds. Between his knee and back the poor guy just can not catch a break. So to feed our depression we were lazy all day and napped. Tonight we decided to go eat at Cheddars. Which turned out to be a huge mistake because now I am ill. NO FRIED FOOD EVER AGAIN. Then we went and bought the girls new church dresses and Barbie portfolios to put all of their lovely drawings in. Today was not a total wash. Ray and I actually took a walk together and did the 2.6 miles for the sandy hook virtual walk/run. Tomorrow will be a better day I just know it. It has to be. I have a huge goal of things to do before school starts back. Until tomorrow!

Ice skating for the first time

Yesterday I not only got some amazing news but I had an amazing days. The day started with us keeping K out of school and venturing to the orthodontist. I was told that in 7 weeks my braces should be removed. YAY!!!! I was gleaming. Ray and I decided to take our girls for some ice skating instead of holiday in the park. When we got to the frisco mall it was PACKED. Food was first on the agenda and while we were waiting for our nourishment I took K to the Disney store to pick out her birthday gift. After all that jazz we finally went to the ice rink. Kylie was so stoked. K and E were so adorable and you could tell that Ray was not a figure skater in his past life. I wasn't to bad. I was actually a little proud and wanted to show off my skills. I have learned though that when you get cocky....that's when you fall on you behind! I am so glad that I did something active, fun, and new with my gorgeous girls and handsome husband. A few days before that we took the girls to get their haircut, E got her ears pierced, I had the most amazing pumpkin cupcake ever, we bought K some new pants, went to gattitown... lets just say we have had a full and spectacular week. Tomorrow is getting back to the grind though. Two days of dirty doubles and then 5 days off!! Christmas is coming....dang I still have to wrap presents. Good Night all!

Inaugural Nike Women's half marathon in Washington DC

I GOT IN!!! I could not have felt more amazing when I found out I would be going to Washington DC. Anyone who knows my knows that my dream is to travel. I am so excited but I am also excited that I will have my amazing husband and two awesome ladies joining me. Ms. Nikita and Ms. MB will be making that 13.1 mile run with me. I can not wait to see all the amazing new Nike products in Georgetown, get my tiffany's designed finishers necklace and see all the amazing monuments and museums.

Glow Run 5k

So this race was AWESOME. It was exactly a week after the RAVE RUN which was super brutal on Ray's knee. He had been up since 4 that morning, went to work, and then met me to go straight to Las Colinas to race. It was more of a walk for us then a run but I was super proud of ray for toughing it out. It was a struggle at the beginning. My friends T-dog and MB ran the race as well and ray felt that I was upset that I was walking with him versus running with my friends. Finally at mile 1 we talked it out and I let him know that I would rather walk and hold his hand then run without him any day. He sprinted through his knee pain to cross the finish line with me.

Pros- amazing music, good friends, amazing glow factors, loved getting my face painted, and they had the most legit race medal I have ever received. It glows and is really heavy and colorful. I was so in LOVE with it. Oh and my friends made me a tutu since the one I made fit my thigh!

Cons- it was confusing on where to get the medals, it was really cold, and the little black light booth was SUPER packed.

All in all I had an amazing time. Afterwards we went to BJ's brewhouse decked out in our medals and tutus for some good food.

Race time- 40:47

Rave Run 2012

Ray and I did an amazing run called the RAVE RUN in dallas in November. We had so much fun. It was our first race together this year. I know it is a little late but better late then never right? Our friends Tori, Nikita and Jason did the race with us as well which made it a true blast.

Pros- we got all this amazing glow gear, and neon orange shirts. The weather was great and the music was amazing.

Cons- The lines to the bathroom were crazy long and this girl has a jittery pre-race bladder. Rays knee started hurting pretty bad around mile two but we sprinted across the finish.

Our race time was 40:05
